The almajiri child

The word Almajiri is gotten from the Arabic word "almuhajjirun", meaning "a traveller in search of knowledge".
The term was used in the golden era of Islam to describe a person who travelled to a distant land in search of knowledge, and often, such people were taken care of by the  community they reside and in turn, they partake in labour, trade and other services to a kind of give back to the society that harbour them.  Even wayfarers are classified under the term.
Majority of the scholars of Islam were almajiri, notably is sheikh uthman bn fodio,  who studied in nearby Niger Republic, and a host of others. In fact there is no scholar or student of knowledge that is distinguished from the term almajiri, as long as you are a seeker of knowledge, its therefore incumbent on you to make the pursuit, cos knowledge doesn't come to you unless you seek it.
However, the opposite is what we see today in our society,  mostly in the northern part of Nigeria, where innocent children in there tender and fragile stage of life are sent away to the wilderness to fend for themselves,  in the name of seeking for islamic education. This children are sent to madrasa(school), to study under a mu'alim(teacher), without any incentives to the malam or that with which to ensure there well  being, and to make matters worse, the malams themselves are not well to do. Some of them can barely afford two square meals a day,  so they sometimes encourage this children to go  begging, and even stealing at times, because they always have there own share of the proceed.
At the end, the main aim is defeated because these children are only taught to recite the Qur'an, the morals is not learnt,  even the narrations of the prophet is sometimes overlooked if not misconcepted, there perception of islam is built on the wrong premise,  which ultimately influence their conduct in society. A good example of this is the boko haram insurgency which is plaguing some northen state and border countries to some of the affected state.
No parental love and society treats them like trash, the tendency of such people will always be detrimental to the society, because they are filled with rage for the society and they feel entitled to something they are being deprived of.

WAY FORWARD
The abuse of a cause is detrimental to the causal objective!  (el'tahir)...
Society thrives on, if children are educated and are taught morality,  patriotism,  and self respect. A society where children recognise there rights and government put forth acts to carter for the rights of these young folks. A society where there are regulations regarding the responsibility of the parents towards the child. A society where institutions are put in place to  carter for the needs of children,  where the parents fall short. A society where the well to do adopts some of these children to give them a better life. This is why developed societies are where they are and we are where we are.
This war will continue to breath air, unless the government,  parents and the society at large, play there part responsibly. However,  continous negligence will virtually result to our doom. Remember it may not be affecting you or your family members,  but the after effect which can be seen from different perspective,  will.

A plea!
The children are out there in the wilderness,  no shelter, no food,  no love. Imagine your own child or your kiddy brother in their situation, what will you do? Lets make this a part of our project, lets show em love,  lets make them feel like they belong
