The Nigerian army recruitment-one of the most corrupt exercise...

Corruption is such a debilitating disease, and the Nigerian army is not immune to it. The army, one of the fore most institutions established with the ideals of upholding justice and a pride to any national setting, charged with the responsibility of protecting the territorial integrity of its people, defending mother land with diligence and honour.
The Nigerian army has been a look warm institution, putting religious and ethnicity before national interest. No doubt the Nigerian army has produced heroes, people who sacrificed their youth fighting for national pride, people whom because of their selflessness, the country is still standing as a sovereign nation, people who fought having this slogan in mind; "To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be achieved", men of great honour and true virtue. Some of them died fighting for this nation, some still lives on with scars of war, and yet some with the memories  of friends whose bodies were mutilated with the cruelty of war e.t.c.
The corruption in the system is not one that should be overlooked because it is crumbling our nations pride, all because some individuals will put their selfish interest before the needs of the corps.
The nature of recruiting personnel for the corps has been a call for concern, because the whole process is a malady, if special candidates are given preference to others who actually had to fulfil the requirement of undergoing screening and still are not chosen, why then is the need of announcing for recruitment? why not just request for the list of the special candidates from their godfathers and admit them to depot for military training?, why not save the innocent boys and girls the stress of having to register, get guarantor's  signature, and even going for screening, when the special candidate will just come on the last day and scoop the whole slots. This is callous, this is injustice, this is not what the Nigerian military stands for.
To those who are doing this, remember that you'll not occupy that position forever, and after this life, there will be accountability. The military should make this process transparent, for the preservation of the core value of the corps, recruiting able people who can serve with enthusiasm, and who are ready to die to preserve the integrity of this nation. Some of these special candidates end up running from depot, and some after being inducted into the army end up running away, because they can't stand the rudiment of the job.
Let's call a spade a spade! Every great movement, empire, crumbled because negative elements with selfish motives introduced bugs into the system, which gradually exposed the system's weakness and plunged the system to red alert and finally it's downfall. This situation is salvageable, only if their is a change in the way we think... At the end the Nigerian army is soldier go, soldier come, barrack still remain.
On behalf of all the gallant girls and boys who are enthused about serving in the military, thereby contributing to mother land, but were rubbed off such opportunity, I say move on! there are many facets of life, this is just one, explore others.

A concerned folk...
