Sugar Cane (Saccharum barberi or officinarum) are tall perennial grass, characterized by a succulent stalk and jointed internodes. Sugar cane is cultivated world wide, with an estimated 23 million tonnes production every year, Brazil contribute about 47% of world sugar cane production. The sugar in cane is sucrose, a disaccharide of glucose and fructose units joint together by "alfa-1-4-glycosidic linkage. sugar cane is processed in mills into sugar beets, syrup molasses, and the white crystalline solid, which is easily soluble and sweet to the taste.

Sugar cane is definitely an all rounder, it's energy values which varies according to amount consumed is a lot to keep you active throughout the day, and also born out stress. Sugar cane when consumed has been found to improve mud, and its also a taste enhancer (stimulating the taste buds), especially during illness. As a biochemist, i would prefer an arms length of sugar cane, than being served shawarma or pizza or even burger to prep me for a hard day's job.
