Alcohol is wrecking lives

 

Overwhelmed by the drizzles on my way to work yesterday, I had to take cover in a shelter where a lady sells stuff, other individuals were there as well sheltering from the rain. The first thing I noticed was the mixed smell of food and the eerily breath of alcohol on the air waves. The steam of rice being served over on a plate and the gulping of dry gin to perhaps drive out cold from within.

The wonky sound made by the guy standing beside me when I mistakenly stepped on his foot, I had to apologize immediately. Then, a voice from behind me saying: make all of us just die now,... Watching thunder lightening gave me the chills, as to what could go wrong. The guy said again, why God no just kill all of us now...

Then he said: all of us na dead body...

The other guy gleefully playing with the lady selling dry gin, calling her "mother". He was like: this my mother fresh o, why person no fit marry em mama?.. The other guys laughing in squabbles. Just think about the chatterings of hyenas, well, if you've seen or experienced a drunk before, you know what they do.

One thing that interest me about the drunk is how they manage to communicate wisdom in a confused state of mind🤔

The guy behind me would intermittently say: na only you dey correct all the time, na others dey always wrong you.. he'd add: nobody dey perfect for this life, all of us na error (I was like: you mean Eeron😁), he speaks the truth in the most subtle and unclear terms.

Make god just kill us na...

Madam I no fit f**k up your daug.. ter, how she go sey I dey shine bcos i buy gin?...

It was a mix of emotions for me; as I couldn't wait to leave that place, ordinarily I don't or should I use the word "rarely" go to such place, but sometimes circumstances put you in certain situation for a greater purpose, you might not understand why immediately, but as time goes things just reveals themselves naturally. I hated that experience, but I appreciate it, because it allowed me to experience the uncanny nature of humans, especially when under the influence of alcohol.

I may try out dry gin one of these days, make I see how I go perform😄 maybe that might resurrect my inner genius, I've always had this special feeling of being a genius, maybe I just need a little motivation🤓

Ok... It's all fun, but the experience was real, and I loved it.
